A marketing promotion schedule keeps your marketing activities on the right time track.
A marketing promotion schedule is a list of tasks or projects that needs to be promoted or marketed. Next to each item on the list are a method and a date. This indicates what is being marketed, how it is marketed and when the marketing strategy needs to start or be implemented. A marketing promotion schedule should be made for a given period, such as a month or a year. A longer and detailed plan can help marketers stay on track and follow the marketing schedule as planned.
Instructions
1. Write a list of products, events or services that you want to market or promote within the next month or year for your business. Examples include launching a new product, having a launch event, sending out a monthly newsletter and creating a blog on your business website.
2. Add a marketing method or strategy to each item on the list of items created in the previous step. The strategy defines the method the company will use to share the product or item with the public. For example, sending out a monthly newsletter can be implemented by sending it out using customers' email addresses; make it available on the company's website and include a hard copy of the newsletter with new customer orders or product shipments. According to EPMS, other marketing and promotion tools include leaflets, posters, brochures, radio broadcasts, television commercials, websites, web radio, printed press releases, magazine advertisements, outdoor advertising or street banners.
3. Add a date to each of the items added to the marketing promotion schedule. This date will indicate the date on which the item will be marketed or made public through press releases or the Internet.
4. Create a list of preparations underneath each item to ensure you have the item ready for the date you have set in the previous step. For example, a newsletter needs to be researched, written and designed before it can be sent out to customers or made public online. Determine how many days you will need to complete it and add the preparation time under the information. For example, if the newsletter must launch on Jan. 12 and you need four days to create it, set the starting date for Jan. 8 t. Remember to add in weekends or holidays when you make your schedule, so you have the proper time available.
5. Organize the marketing promotion schedule, so it is in chronological order. Make copies of it and distribute it to managers to ensure they know your marketing strategies and launching dates. Check the schedule frequently to ensure that you start preparing the items according to the dates set.
