Use Microsoft Office Products In Real Estate

There is a variety of software programs designed specifically for real estate professionals. Yet, Microsoft Office products can also be used in a similar fashion. Periodically real estate organizations sponsor seminars to instruct real estate professionals on utilize programs within Microsoft Office. One advantage of using Microsoft Office products over real estate specific programs is that the programs can also be used for projects outside of the real estate practice. Contacts included in Outlook don't need to be limited to real estate, eliminating your need for multiple address programs.


Instructions


1. Enter your schedule, to-do list and contact information in Microsoft's email program, Microsoft Outlook. Utilize program features, such as "Categorize" and creation of mail folders, to organize data.


2. Download your Outlook information, including the appointment book and contacts, to whatever smart phone you are using, following the phone's download instructions.


3. Write and format correspondence letters in Microsoft Word. Use the "Insert" feature to add photographs, graphs or images to your letters, use the mail merge feature (in conjunction with Outlook contacts) to send out letters or flyers to clients or potential clients.


4. Create listing flyers, real estate newsletters, business cards, company brochures, mailing labels, letterhead, promotional post cards and other real estate printing projects using Microsoft Publisher. Many of the projects can also be created using Microsoft Word.


5. Use PowerPoint to create slide shows to use when teaching real estate courses or giving presentations to prospective clients.


6. Record and calculate expenses and commissions in Microsoft Excel. The program can also be used to create a recipient list for Word's mail merge feature.
