When your auto breaks down and you need a part to fix it, it's expensive to buy parts from an auto dealer. Many people choose to buy their auto parts used, or from an alternative seller. If you have spare parts laying around from past repairs, or parts from stripping an auto down, you can easily sell them online, or directly to a seller.
Instructions
1. Write up a detailed list of your auto parts. Include descriptions of each part and the make, model and years of the auto they were used on. Indicate if the parts are original or rebuilt, and if they are aftermarket parts. Include as many details as possible. For example, advertise a "Used Flexalite Fan Blade for a 1989 Dodge Dakota LE; 6Cyl 3.9L."
2. Describe the condition of each auto part. For example, "New condition--works fine," "Works fine--has surface rust," "Needs spring to work" or "Like brand new--barely used."
3. Determine a fair price for each auto part. Research prices at several websites that sell new and used auto parts (see Resources).
4. Photograph each auto part. Include the image with your advertisement.
5. Advertise your auto parts with or without a warranty and/or a return policy. Used parts often come with no warranty period, unlike new parts. Customers buy with confidence from sellers who offer a reasonable return policy.
