Google Search Engine
Most business owners are keenly aware of the power of a Google search, and what it can do for website traffic. Google.com is the premiere search engine with more than 80 million unique users using it each month. That's a whole lot of potential customers! There are many ways to get your website listed on Google, but some can be very expensive, especially for start up or small business owners. Here's a tip on getting a FREE Google listing that is fast and easy.
Instructions
1. Go to Maps.Google.com and click on the 'Put Your Business On Google Maps' link. This will redirect you to the Local Business Center. If you already have a Google account, you can sign in and proceed to Step 2. If not, you'll need to set one up.
2. Click on Add New Business. Enter your basic information in the fields provided, including your website, phone number, and a working email address. As you type in the details, you'll notice your listing forming on the right-hand side of the screen, complete with a map location. Once you've completed this step, you can fix an incorrect marker location if necessary.
3. Click Next.
You can now add the additional information for your business such as hours open, payments accepted, etc.
Submit your business listing.
Once submitted, you will need to verify your listing using a phone, SMS or PIN that will be mailed to you via that address in your listing. Once verified, your business will show up on Google Maps usually within a few weeks.
