Finding good prospects can be like panning for gold.
According to the Direct Marketing Association, there are 15.1 million people involved in multilevel marketing. To succeed in MLM, you need a constant stream of sales leads and contacts to place salespeople beneath you in the structure and to generate the sales necessary to make money. While cold calling is natural for some, it is certainly not for most. Generating genuine leads that reflect some interest in your products makes the cold calling process much "warmer" and easier on you. While there are mailing lists and services you can pay for this information, it is often more advantageous to generate the leads yourself free.
Instructions
1. Create a strong website with one of the many free website hosting companies available online. Write or print the website's address on all of your business cards and point everyone you meet to the website for more information. Include a contact form on your website to follow up with your leads.
2. Push traffic to your website or blog by commenting on other websites or blogs with your web address included in the contacts. Many websites promote this practice by making your name into a clickable hyperlink when you post to their website that, when clicked, directs to your site.
3. Utilize social media extensively. Everyone in your friend and follower list is a potential lead. Develop relationships by finding mutual interests.
4. Post videos of product demonstrations to YouTube and other similar sites. Offering the personal touch allows a lead to feel more comfortable about contacting you for your product.
5. Volunteer. The more you are serving others and getting to know people, the more qualified leads you can make for yourself.
6. Visit your local library. It has a reference section with phone books, reverse directories and state employee's guides. These books and documents store a wealth of free qualified leads.
7. Socialize with other MLM professionals. Many fail in business and quit selling. Request their orphaned customers' contact information and a personal referral.
8. Donate excess inventory in exchange for publicity. Many people love free merchandise and giveaways. Don't waste the opportunity by failing to get leads.
9. Trade your leads for leads with other MLM professionals. A well-qualified customer is worth leads in exchange. Share information, advice and tips as well.
10. Hang homemade signs and brochures at universities, Laundromats and other bulletin boards. Include both your phone number and your website address.
11. Offer free seminars at your local library or civic organization. Demonstrating your product this way allows prospects to ask questions and see the product in action, which makes qualifying a lead easier. If they are interested, they will often ask questions and show enthusiasm.
