3. Build contacts. To successfully run a promotional advertising business, you should build contacts with people you will need to work with to help get better deals for your clients. This includes advertising contacts at local and national newspapers, web advertisers, printers, and designers.
4. Promote yourself! Start building your business by getting out there. Meet with business owners or managers to discuss everything you can do for them and how promotional advertising can increase their business. The best advertising is word of mouth, so your client base should quickly grow once you do a quality job for a few clients.
5. Stay updated on the business. With technology and trends constantly changing, the key to operating a successful promotional advertising business is to stay informed.
