One thing that the Internet has changed substantially is the way we buy and sell items. You can place free classified ads online, and you can find items to buy in every corner of the world. If you want to place a classified ad in your local paper, doing it on the Internet is definitely the easiest way these days. You don't have to call or visit an office-you can take your time writing an ad, and then place it in the local paper's print or online version simply by visiting its Web site. It is very quick and easy, and you don't even have to leave your home to do it.
Instructions
1. Find the Web site of your local paper by searching at NewsVoyager (see Resouces). Click on your state on the home page, then scroll down the list to find papers in your area. (Papers are arranged alphabetically in order of the name of the area they serve, not the name of the paper.)
2. Click a newspaper name to navigate to the Web site of that paper.
3. Find the classified link on the home page. It'll be called "Place an Ad" or something similar.
4. Select a category to place your ad in, and decide whether you want it to appear in print, online or both.
5. Follow the instructions to place your ad, and see the Tips section of this article for further information.
6. Make sure that you check your ad for errors before publishing-particularly your contact details.
7. Make a note of any information you are given during or after ad placement, such as how long the ad will run for and whether or not you can edit or delete your ad if you are publishing it online.
