Make A 13period Calendar

A 13-period calendar is only slightly different than a 12-period one.

A 13-period calendar splits the year into 13 four-week periods rather than 12 months of varying lengths. A 13-period calendar is useful for accounting purposes, such as comparing sales figures or scheduling bi-weekly paydays. You can make a 13-period calendar in any word processing program that includes tables. Choose to create a single page for each four-week period or make a calendar that shows a full year on one page.

Instructions

Make a 13-Period Calendar on a Single Page

1. Open a new document in your word processing program. Change the top and bottom margins to 0.5 inches. Hit the enter key twice to leave space above the table for the calendar title and year.

2. Select "Table" from the options across the top of your screen. Please note that "Table" may be located under "Insert" or elsewhere in some programs. Consult your word processing program help files, if necessary.

3. Choose "Insert" or "Create" from the "Table" menu. Enter "8" for the number of columns and "53" for the number of rows for the table size, and click "OK."

4. Add the days of the week in the first row, starting with the second column. Add the period covered by each week in the first column, starting with the second row. Fill in the date in each box that corresponds with the day of the week for each column during the period covered by each row.

5. Shade alternate four-week periods with light gray or other highlight color for easier reading, if desired.

Make a Separate Page for Each Four-Week Period

6. Open a new document in your word processing program. Change the page orientation to "Landscape." Hit the "Enter" key twice to leave space above the table for the date range.

7. Select "Table" from the options across the top of your screen. Please note that "Table" may be located under "Insert" or elsewhere in some programs. Consult your word processing program help files, if necessary.

8. Choose "Insert" or "Create" from the "Table" menu. Enter "7" for the number of columns and "5" for the number of rows for the table size, and click "OK."

9. Add the days of the week to the columns across the first row. Make 12 more copies of the calendar sheet for a complete 13-period calendar.

10. Fill in the dates across each row on each sheet that correspond with the day of the week for each column during the four-week time period covered by the calendar page. Add the date range for the time period covered by the calendar page to the heading area above the table on each sheet.
