Get Cable Deals

Get a better deal on your cable bill

Most people are being more conservative with their money and that means cutting back on entertainment expenses. One area that it is extremely easy to save money in is the cost of cable. In fact, you may find that only a few minutes worth of research will result in a savings of several hundred dollars per year. The key is to stay aware of promotional offers by all of the cable companies and to be willing to change companies if a better deal comes along.

Instructions

1. Take note of all cable advertisements that you hear and see. This includes offers that come in the mail, and ones you hear on the radio or see on TV. Select the offer that best fits your needs.

2. If you already have cable, call up you cable provider and ask them to give you the promotional price that they are advertising. If you saw a competitor's ad that had a better price, ask them to match the competitor's price.

3. Don't cancel immediately. When you tell them you are thinking about canceling your service they will usually put a note in your account stating this. Call back a few days later and they may be more willing to negotiate.

4. Threaten to cancel your account, but do it nicely. When you call to cancel they will offer you a deal. However, it may not be the deal that you want. It is your choice to either take it or walk away.

5. If you don't have cable and are signing up for the first time, ask them to waive the initial deposit. Many cable companies will run a quick credit check instead, which will save you from having to pay that extra charge.
