Advertise Your New Business Products Or Services

Business cards are not the only way to advertise your business.

When you start a new business, it is important to advertise and get the word out. It doesn't matter if your business provides products or services; to be successful, you need customers. In this modern day, advertising opportunities are nearly endless. So many avenues of advertising exist from traditional newspaper ads, to online listings, websites and social media. Business owners looking for a more creative or over-the-top advertising method also have their pick.

Instructions

1. Set up a Facebook page and Twitter account for your business. Get friends and followers of your business by inviting your friends and family and ask them to spread the word. Consider offering a giveaway once you reach a certain number of fans or followers. Offering Facebook or Twitter discounts, deals or special offers may entice more people to join, thus getting the word out about your product or service.

2. List your business on the Google Business Center. It is free to add your business to this service. This site works much like the traditional Yellow Pages. Whenever someone searches for a particular product or service, your listing will appear.

3. Order business cards for your new business with your name, business name, description of the product or service you offer and your contact information. Choose a unique design that is eye catching and memorable. Carry the cards with you at all times; you never know when you will meet someone who may be interested in your business. You can also leave business cards on bulletin boards and counters in some businesses such as coffee shops that allow small-business owners to advertise for free.

4. Purchase promotional materials to advertise your business. If you offer a product, consider bags, boxes, wrapping papers and tags with your business name and logo. If your business is service oriented, items to consider include pens, magnets and coffee mugs. These items help keep your business name and logo in front of your customer, reminding her of your products or services in the future.

5. Sign up for fairs, festivals and other events where you can set up a booth or table. Hand out flyers, free samples, catalogs or any other promotional material you choose. These events normally have a lot of traffic, enabling you to advertise your business to a large number of people in a short amount of time. Remember to be friendly and personable, never pushy.
