Make Cute Name Tags

Making a cute name tag can make an event more interesting.

Name tags are a useful item for many different events. While a standard tag that reads "Hello" and has a blank space to write your name is simple and easy, you may wish to have name tags that are more interesting -- or themed for a specific event. This kind of preparation can set the mood of an event, and encourage participants to enjoy themselves. If you like, you can even let participants decorate their own name tags.

Instructions

1. Choose your name tags. You can get ones that are designed to stick, or those that are designed to be worn on a clip or lanyard. Both are easily purchased from an office supplier. If you want participants to decorate their own name tags, a lanyard style tag may be easier. In addition, you may need to download or install software to create a template for printing your name tags. This is often included in the package.

2. Create a template for your name tags. The area for the name should be large and free from decoration, so that it is clear and easy to read. Adding a touch that is relevant to the event is a good idea.

For instance, if you were having a party for students studying Japanese, a name tag that read "Konnichiwa" at the top, "Hello," would be considered cute.

A pirate-themed party might have name tags that read "Arr, my name be..."

3. Choose a font that is clear and easy to read. Fonts that are curly, loopy, look childlike or have objects that look like letters, like a font that looks like flowers, are all very cute. Be sure to make the font large enough to read from several feet away.

4. Embellish your name tags. Remember, adding too many decorations makes it harder to read and less cute. If you want to add embellishments by hand or let participants decorate their own, name tags, skip this step.

5. Print your name tags. If you added embellishments with your computer, you are finished at this point.
