Make A Homemade Baby Food Business

Baby food is a very sought after product. If it's homemade, it sounds better because parents don't want to expose their babies to preservatives or artificial coloring. Also, if the food is made at home, it is a reassuring thought that natural ingredients would be used.

Instructions

1. Prepare your homemade baby food and place it in jars. All jars must be the same size and shape.

2. Close your jars with airtight cap seals (the ones that pop when opened).

3. Prepare labels with the brand name, logo, information on when and where it was produced and date of bottling and expiration.

4. Make sure your product displays some kind of certification that it meets food safety standards. You can hire a local firm to consult about health and hygiene issues, and to help you with the appropriate measures to be taken in order to get certified. Most people will prefer to buy well known brands because of their guarantees for hygiene. In order to combat this, advertise your high standards of health safety.

5. Start marketing your product in local stores and among friends.

Remember that most of the contents of baby food are essentially kosher, so getting a "kashrut" certificate could come in very handy. This will certify that the product is natural and that is prepared in a hygienic environment. As a bonus, you'll get most of the local Jewish community to buy your product.

6. Send samples of your product to neighborhood daycares, nurseries and headstarts. Also, make a point in posting posters and flyers at the aforementioned places, as well as grocery stores, churches and family oriented businesses.
