Make a profit from your crafts.
Turn your homemade handicrafts into a profitable sideline income by selling them online.
Instructions
1. Develop a variety of homemade craft products. Variety is good. Have several different items to offer buyers. Include various sizes, and colors to give your online buyers a choice of what they want to buy. For example, if you are selling wooded benches, offer a child size bench, medium size bench, and a long bench that seats two or three people. Make the benches available in at least four different colors.
2. Insist on only selling quality items to your customers. Most online craft outlets have a feedback system in place for customers to rate the products they buy. Make sure you don't have to deal with the wrath of an angry buyer that received a low quality or broken product that you made. Bad feedback is the quickest way to ruin your online craft business.
3. Ship your products quickly. Most homemade crafts can be made up ahead of time and be ready to ship as soon as the order comes in. Even crafts that are custom made can be started or "roughed out" and then just painted or finished per your buyer's request. People that shop online value fast delivery.
4. Find an outlet for your homemade crafts. It wasn't too long ago, that Ebay was one of your only options for selling online, however now there are better options. Two examples are ETSY.com and Craftmall.com. These online outlets make getting your work out in front of the public easy and profitable. Another option for selling your crafts online is to start your own website, although this requires a larger investment of time and money.
