Flyers Ideas For A Funeral Home

While they may not be the most glamorous of businesses, funeral homes still need to advertise and compete against other funeral homes. Flyers are a good way for them to do so but because of the sensitive nature of the job, deciding make a flyer for a funeral home may seem a little daunting. Keeping a few tips in mind will help funeral homes create flyers that are tasteful while attracting the attention of potential customers.


Tone


Although funerals are times for mourning, a flyer for a funeral home doesn't have to always have a somber tone. A tone of respect with a light hint of celebration will work. Many people like to think of a funeral as a way to say goodbye to and celebrate the life of a loved one. Use this as a theme for your flyer and use phrases such as "your loved one was one of a kind and deserves a casket to show it." Don't go too far into the "celebration" and forget to be respectful of possible clients. To ensure that clients know you are respectful and will help them in this difficult time, simply say so in your flyer. For example, try something such as "In this difficult time, we're here to help." Your flyer can be comforting, yet celebratory at the same time.


Images


Like any business flyer, those for funeral homes need to include images. Again, sunshine and rainbows are not the proper images for this type of communication, but neither are photos of funerals. Instead, use photos of flowers. Flowers are beautiful and conjure up feelings of life, rather than death. Symbolic images will also work for a funeral home flyer. For example, along with the comforting words, you may include a picture of two people hugging or two people holding hands to symbolize compassion and trust. Images such as these will subconsciously help your possible clients have good feelings about your business and feel as though they can trust your funeral company.


Specifics


While flyers for many other businesses may include specifics such as prices and sizes, a funeral home's flyer should be more general and broad. Simply the words "funeral home" will tell the potential clients that the business offers caskets, does embalming and everything else one expects a funeral home to do. The only reason to reiterate these facts is to distinguish your business from others. Instead of stating which caskets the funeral home has and what they cost, say something within a paragraph such as "Find a respectable casket for your loved one and give him the sendoff he deserves." That will tell the reader that yes, you have caskets, but will also bring the comforting and respectful tone into the thoughts. Save the prices for when the clients ask for them.


Personality


Burying a loved one is not easy and is a highly personal experience for those involved. Because of this, many people want to feel that those in charge of the funeral services are "family." Providing personal information about the owners or specialists working in the funeral home will help families feel more comfortable about strangers handling a loved-one's funeral services. If a funeral home is family-owned, say so in the flyer. Tell potential customers when the funeral home was founded, and if those who work there have been there for 30 years, say so in the flyer. It will be easier for mourning patients to trust a funeral home if more information about the home and its workers is available at the outset.
