There are many ways you can advertise your auto detail business.
Auto detailing is fairly easy to advertise. If you're conveniently mobile or have a shop, the odds of increasing your business are substantial. In addition to advertising, word of mouth goes a long way. After advertising and gaining customers, your phone should be ringing--referrals are a great source of business. Also, the more you're involved in your community, the faster your name will spread.
Research the Competition
See how others are advertising before deciding advertise your own business. You might find that your competition offers less or more than you do. You should aim to advertise your competitive pricing or highlight what your business does that others don't do, such as mobile detailing, clean car warranties (perhaps offer a package that will clean a car throughout the week if it becomes dirty again), coupons, referral fees (pay your customers for referring friends and family) or even advertise premium products.
Build a Website
Pay to have a website professionally created or do it yourself. Look for online website-building programs. Although building your page may save money, it's a time-consuming process. In addition to advertising how your business differs from the competition, add a comment or email box where a client can send a question or note. Some people may send a question rather than make a phone call. Answer your mail quickly. Your website should be checked repeatedly for errors.
Advertise for Free Online
Use online sites to advertise your business. Check free, local ads and post your service daily. In the beginning, search the wanted ads for people who need their car detailed. Offer a reduced price in hopes of a referral base to start your business. Always add a link to your website. Social networking sites work as free advertising, too. You can even start a blog about your auto detail company.
Post Fliers
Research local laws about placing fliers in a mailbox or on a home's door. This is all free advertising, although it can be a time-consuming task. Post fliers on local business advertising boards. Add your contact and website information.
Paid Avenues
Buy ad space in your local newspaper or its website. Many newspapers offer this service, while some only allow you to buy for online space or newspaper space--some allow both for one price. Add contact information and a link to your website. If you have the money, buy radio or commercial advertising space.
Ask for Referrals
Don't hesitate to ask satisfied customers for referrals. Ask if customers know people who'd like to have their vehicle detailed. If your customer doesn't, hand out a business card and write the customer's name on it. Pay the customer for his referral business, whether through money or a free detail job.
