One way to attract new customers to your business is by offering promotional items, or giveaways. These products add an incentive to customers to utilize your business services while also advertising your company to others. There are a wide variety of promotional items to choose from. Once you decide which one to create, you may have it printed using a promotional products company from the Internet or a local firm in your area.
Instructions
1. Choose a promotional item. Pick a product that suits your business and that is useful to your customer. If you are a bank, you may consider wallets or change purses with your logo imprinted on them. If you are an accountant, a small customized calculator with your business name and contact information on it will be a useful giveaway. Also consider items such as pens, mugs, notepads, flyers or T-shirts.
2. Locate promotional product companies. Search the Internet, ask for referrals and look for local companies who have the item that you want at the best price.
3. Compare products and services. You should compare the item cost, production times, set-up fees, run charges and shipping prices. Give competing local companies your lowest quote and ask them to beat it. Choose the company that provides the highest quality item at the lowest price that you can afford in your advertising budget.
4. Design your graphic artwork to be placed on your item. Once you have picked a promotional product company and the type of item that you wish to imprint, create your logo or art. Each promotional company will have its own graphic design requirements. Some will allow you to create your promotional item using your own images that you can upload on the company's website or submit by email. Others have templates that you must use. Contact the company that you have chosen and request information about submit your logo, text or design, and the type of computer file that it should be saved in.
5. Place your order. In many cases, there is a minimum order requirement that may range between 25 to 500 items per order. The more you order, the lower the price per item. Once you have determined your quantity, submit your billing information and complete your order. Make sure that you will receive a proof of what the product and art will look like, then follow-up regularly to ensure timely receipt of your order.
