Set Up A Store Display

Retail displays can come in many forms.

When it comes to moving product in a retail store, success depends on the placement and display of the items. Presentation is everything. Here's effectively display your product lines and get them moving out of your shop.

Instructions

1. Determine which products you want displayed where. If there's a particularly trendy product, perhaps you want it displayed in a window to inform your customers of the availability of this item. Lesser noticed products could be placed by the doorway to catch the eye of customers entering or exiting.

2. Clean the area you will be displaying product in. Nothing makes a display less effective than a dirty, dusty, grimy area.

3. Get organized and set up. Ensure all your display items are within grasp and all the necessary tools are ready to work with. You don't want to be running all over the shop trying to find items while still in the middle of setup.

4. Begin arranging the display. Displays should not be a random, hodgepodge of product. Everything in the display should follow a particular theme, and items should be displayed in a relatively symmetrical or circular pattern. Whatever is most pleasing to the eye is always most effective.

5. Step back and take an objective look at the finished display. It may be necessary to leave the area and come back to it to view it with a fresh eye. Get the opinion of co-workers and even customers. The input of others will oftentimes suggest something you may have never thought of.
