Free Advertising Sites That Allow You To Post Widgets

A widget is a term that's often used to describe a single line of code embedded in an Internet page. Sometimes widgets are used as parts of advertising for a business. If you want to get free advertising on the Internet, and you want it to include widgets, there are a few options open to you. Does this Spark an idea?

Facebook

While meant as a social networking site, Facebook is often used by business owners and entrepreneurs to create a profile for their business so that word will get around. It's rare to find a moderately successful business, or even a professional, who doesn't have a Facebook account for posting advertisements and widgets. Of course it's completely free to create a Facebook account, and this is one big reason that a lot of businesses use the service to garner a network of interested parties.

Blog Sites

Sites like Live Journal and Blog Spot allow users to create their own blogs for free. When creating a company blog, it's entirely possible to include widgets to attract the interest of those who read the posts about the company. This is an excellent way to get free advertising if you can bring other people to read your business's blog posts, and of course to check out the widgets that you have posted.

Reddit

Reddit is a site that's similar to sites like Digg or Stumble in that the purpose of the site is to get a community of members to post links and to write pieces of text. If you submit a piece of written text at Reddit, you could include a widget for your business as part of the post. Because of the enormous size of the Reddit community, it's likely that you'll be able to target your post to a section of the site that's most likely to be interested in what you put up.
